We have all heard that It Takes a Village to Raise a Child.  While this is undoubtedly true, I sincerely believe ‘It Takes a Village to Support a Mother‘.  As women, we can do it independently, but how much better would it be if we had a community of birth professionals and mothers who have been there before us to provide a listening ear and guidance? 

Hi! I am Iman, an American mother of five and an experienced Social Worker currently living in Abu Dhabi, UAE. I support women as a Doula, a Birth Educator, and a Maternal Wellness Coach, helping mothers through Matrescence (the physical, emotional, and identity shift in early motherhood).

Born out of the pandemic, The Mother’s Village is the first ecosystem in the UAE to support the motherhood journey.

We are a holistic Mother and Child Center that nurtures women through each season of motherhood with services that promote their overall well-being: Support Groups, Fertility and Childbirth Education, Birth and Postpartum Doula support, Lactation Counseling, and Maternal Wellness Coaching.

During the pandemic, I realized that a significant shift was necessary in how women entered AND moved through motherhood.

As mothers, it is important to feel we are not alone and that other women have experienced our questions and insecurities.  Whether we are having our first or seventh child, we need to be reminded that someone in the community has likely faced any challenge we face. 

This creates a dynamic of mutual support through shared experiences and empathy.
