A doula is a trained professional who provides
continuous physical, emotional and informational
support to a mother before, during and shortly
after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest,
most satisfying experience possible (DONA, 2019).
A doula educates a woman on the birth process and
gives her continuous emotional and physical
support during her labor and birth so the mother
can clearly understand and communicate her needs
