Close to giving birth or within the first three months postpartum?

are you

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) evidence suggests that having a doula supported birth is associated with the following improved outcomes:

A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible (DONA, 2019).

A doula educates a woman on the birth process and gives her continuous emotional and physical support during her labor and birth so the mother can clearly understand and communicate her needs to health professionals.

PHYSICAL SUPPORT

For detailed postpartum offerings, please see the "Postpartum Doulas" section.

Post-birth, your doula ensures routine check-ins and a visit within the first two weeks, offering guidance on newborn care, feedings, sleep, and emotional well-being. If you require more assistance, our Postpartum Care Packages can help. They include feeding guidance, rest, sibling care, emotional support, meal preparations, and more.

Ongoing Guidance After Your Birth

Your doula goes on-call from the 38th week. During active labor, she joins you at your birthplace and stays continuously supportive until the initial feedings post-birth.

Continuous Labor Support

Prenatal Visits: There are two visits before labor.

First Visit (Second Trimester): Focuses on birth planning, care provider interviews, hospital tours, understanding medical procedures and terminology, early labor signs, hormones of birth, and addressing any past traumas (all discussions are confidential).

Second Visit (~36th Week): Covers stages of labor, pain management, role-playing the labor experience, implementing the birth plan, breastfeeding basics, and addressing concerns in the final weeks like GBS, Gestational Diabetes, baby's position, and more.
Getting Acquainted: We first meet to get to know one another and to learn more about your vision for birth.
From there, we help you choose an experienced birth doula.

Continuous Communication: Once your doula is hired, she's available for calls, texts, and emails throughout the pregnancy. She assists in preparing for your birth through educational sessions and addressing any fears related to birth or motherhood.

Community Building: You're invited to our monthly Village TALKS and Support Circles, fostering community with other mothers.

holistic support

Nurturing your family after baby is born.

Pre-birth Meeting: Ideally, meeting your postpartum doula before childbirth allows you to become acquainted and receive guidance on crafting a postpartum plan.

Timing of Support: After creating your plan, decide when post-birth support starts. Some opt for immediate support at the hospital once their birth doula departs, while others prefer support after coming home.

Personalized Attention: Our doulas deeply understand your story, concerns, and needs. We provide evidence-based guidance, ensuring optimal decisions for your family.

Immediate Needs: Your doula will assist with feeding the baby, newborn care, rest, nutrition, and hydration. As you settle, they'll advise on postpartum healing, emotional well-being, sibling interactions, baby care techniques, and community resources.
